I hope that all is well with you, your family and friends, and all of your colleagues. The pictures and videos we are seeing from the earthquakes and the tsunami are horrifying. It looks like Sendai was especially hard-hit, and my daughter and I are particularly saddened having visited there. My heart reaches out to you all. Know that we here are thinking of you. If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.

I am so relieved to know that everyone you know in Sendai seem to be alright. I have lived through much smaller earthquakes in California, and know that the shock can last a long time. Please do let the others know that you are all in my heart and in my thoughts as you rebuild and recover.

My heart is broken for all of you and your friends, family members, and fellow countrymen. Sadly, the news continues to be filled with higher death tolls.
I have such wonderful memories of my brief time in Sendai and what a beautiful place it was. The photos now seem unbelievable.
Please know that I am thinking of all of you and hoping for the best.
Please be safe.
